Bio: Dr. Scott Kollen was born, raised, and educated in greater Vancouver. He associated in private practices on Vancouver Island before making the jump across the Rockies to a group practice in Calgary AB, where he quickly became partner and was a part of 5 clinics expanding to 15 startup clinics in a few years time. He has since returned to Vancouver and started up a rapidly growing clinic, River District Dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, flyfishing and travel.
Description: There is a murky myriad of career options available to new general dentist grads – associate in a main clinic, associate in satellite clinic, locum dentist, group partner and clinic owner! This talk will go over many of the pros and cons that accompany each career path, from a practitioner that has experienced them all! Time will also be spent reviewing clinical efficiencies, communication skills, smart CE choices as well as non-dental issues including financial, legal and physical health. (1.5 Credit Hours)
